Well done to all those who took part, organised and umpired the Jersey Open Tournament this weekend - a fantastic weekend of netball!!

The final for the Trophy was contested between St Lawrence and Convent, with the latter taking an early lead 9 v 3 by half time. With some great work from Mother and daughter defence Emma and Jodie Blampied, St Lawrence shooters were made to work hard. Laura Ross for St Lawrence also piled on the pressure in the circle and had had a fantastic day in GK gaining any interceptions and forcing errors from her opponents. Convent GS Jackie Norman however, although made to work hard for it, was able to maintain her consistent shooting to help her team to a 23 v 10 victory.

The final for the Plate was much closer between Accies and St Clement who had met earlier in the day in a game which saw Accies taking the upper hand in the closing minutes to win 17 v 15. St Clement C Tammy Fage had a fantastic days play and didn’t let up in the final. With some excellent feeds to her shooters Accies Defence Ciara O’Rafferty and Jenny Acton-Philips had to work hard but teamed up well over the weekend. They forced GA Leslie Le Falher and GS Dawn Heard to work hard for every ball and goal. Accies C Claudia Andrade also had a great weekend in her first Open linking well with her team especially shooters Sophie Le Bon and Kerrie Jarvie who managed a very high percentage of shots on day 2 of the tournament. The final match was edged 9 v 8 at half time by Accies but continued to be close forcing the game to extra time with the score tied at the close (17 v 17). Extra time started off as the game finished but with Accies able to get 2 goals on the bounce the edged ahead and took the victory 23 v 20.
