Tallula was also selected for Team Bath Futures aged only 14 (U17 regional squad) and won Player of the Match for both the U14 and U16 Jersey Squads at the 2015 Interinsulars. The Norman Family Shield was presented by Mrs Joyce Norman (Honorary Life Member of the JNA), Mrs Mary Burnett and Mr Leslie Norman. She is pictured along with her proud parents Jackie and Phil Norman and brother Stanley.

Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July 2015

Nicky Holgate-Smith, Sophie Boxall and Jo Nash organised a big fundraising netball event consisting of a 24 hour netballathon, Guiness World Record attempt for most number of players in a netball match and Family Fun Day full of activities and demonstrations.

Included was match between Team Jets and Jersey Mens team which was very exciting and started off close with the final score 30 v 19!

So far the event has raised a fantastic amount of money for the JNA and Philip's Footprints which provides baby loss memory boxes, keepsake items and support for parents facing the devastating loss of a baby.

As massive thank you to all the organisers, helpers, participants and the following sponsors for contributing to a fantastic weekend of netball.

Friday 10th July 2015

Serena Guthrie has been named ANZ Championship 2015 Best New Talent after having an outstanding debut season for the Mystics!
Guthrie is the first centre court recipient since the award was introduced in 2010 and has helped her Team to secure the top spot in the New Zealand Conference for 3 years. On doing so she has been ranked 3rd in the completion for inceptions (26).

“Serena has brought a different dimension to the ANZ Championship. The fans and the public have loved the way that she plays and she really deserves this accolade ahead of what will be an exciting finals series for her,” ANZ Championship General Manager Andy Crook said.

“I’m pretty shocked to be honest and a bit lost for words,” Guthrie said.

“I definitely wouldn’t have been given this award without the Mystics, they’ve made me feel like part of the group and under them I’ve been able to flourish and play the game I want to play out there.”

“Being around these awesome athletes made me want to improve and get better and try and find the real consistency in my game,” she said.

Team Jets joined Kent County, Dominoes and Leyton (latter two teams in the relegation zone for Premier League Two) at Play-offs in Loughborough to try and secure double promotion up to Premier League Two.

The opening match saw Team Jets face Kent County who were also battling for promotion. Having beaten the side twice in the league it was Kent who this time took the upperhand.

Kent County 10,21,35,40
Team Jets 8,16,24,32

Having lost the opening game it was crucial that Team Jets won their next game of Day One against Dominoes who were fighting to stay in Premier League Two. The opening quarter saw Team Jets trail by one goal but from the second quarter onwards Jets stormed on to win by a fantastic margin.

Dominoes 9,17,24,29
Team Jets 8,20,32,44

In a winner takes all match against Leyton Team Jets again fell behind in the first quarter. With a strong defence Jets found it hard to feed the shooting circle but began to chip away at Leyton's lead from the second quarter. With some fantastic defensive interceptions of their own coupled with Lynsey Pitman and Sophie Holmes finding more space it became a one goal game before the fire alarm halted the match with 5 minutes 53 seconds to go! Team Jets didn't let this interruption effect them in fact they came out the better team which made all the difference allowing them to win by one goal!

Leyton 11,20,29,36
Team Jets 7,19,26,37

Congratulations to Team Jets who earnt a well deserved promotion to Premier League Two at playoffs!!!

St Clement's play UK Tournament - weekend of the 24th - 26th April 2015

Well done to the St Clement's Youth Players who travelled away to play in the CD Pheonix Netball Tournament held annually in East Grinstead. The players who are all in years 8 and 9 had a fantastic time and enjoyed playing against new and tough opposition with even a 6ft 1inch shooter to contend with! They were supported by Youth Coaches Deirdre Brewster, Nadia Noel, Sandra Thackery and Ella Lemoucheux.

Deirdre Brewster afterwards said: "We started the morning extremely well even though we lost the first game to Turnford who were the eventual winners, drew our next game with the whistle being blown just as what would have been our winning goal on its way in!  The third game of the morning we won 13 -3, a fantastic result in a 6 minute each way game.

The rest of our afternoon games all proved to be really tough, the girls tired and heads went down.  However after a break of an hour between our last two games and a morale boosting team talk, the girls went on for the last game with heads up.  Unfortunately we were so unlucky with our shots and did not win this last game but it really was just down to bad luck.

Our overall result was 9th out of 11 teams. The girls were a credit to their parents and the club on and off the court and the organisers and other teams were so friendly and delighted that we had come from Jersey to attend the tournament, one club leader referring to us as the “holiday makers”!  The organiser from CD Phoenix, Jan Johnson even presented our player of the tournament Lauren Andresen with a winners medal and the leaders and girls with a box of chocs each."

Sunday 26th April 2015

St Lawrence C had a tough fixture against Nerine E who were a strong side that linked well throughout. St Lawrence sadly lost but showed great spirit never giving up. The final fixture was a tough battle between Convent A and Nerine A Blaze, but the home side kept up the pressure with some fantastic defensive work to win the game.

Convent A 10,21,34,43

Team Jets played their last match of the season at Les Ormes. It was a fantastic way to end the season with Jets coming from behind to win 45 v 41! With Linden's tall GS being fed relatively easily and hardly missing a shot, Linden took a very strong early lead of nearly 10 gaols before the Jets defence started to double mark her and pressurise the passes to gain invaluable interceptions. With the crowd on their feet Jets finally gained the upper hand in the final part of the last quarter in a thrilling match.

With the winner of todays match going to play-offs it was all to play for and made of a highly contested and completive game.
