Good to see the progress of this St Saviour B side whose players have predominantly come from the Back to Netball scheme.
Accies D took the lead early on in their game against St Lawrence F. The experienced side kept their momentum to take a 58 – 19 win which results in them snatching 2nd place in the table.
St John also took home a win against St Saviour’s C,45-20, gaining the 5 points to let them sneak into 3rd position leaving the top half of the table with just single points separating 2nd, 3rd and St Lawrence E dropping to 4th place.

With the Division 1 teams having finished their fixtures for the first half of the winter league, week 8 saw two top table fixtures. The first in Division 2 with St Brelade A taking on Convent D, both teams going into week 8 on equal points separated only by goal difference. The experienced St Brelade side took the lead in the first quarter 12-14. Convent won the second quarter with good through court play and defensive pressure leading to a 19 goal draw at half-time. A great squad effort from the young Convent side who fought hard and worked tirelessly in defence. St Brelade won 48-40 retaining their top spot in the table.
Neither St Lawrence C or St Clement D managed to settle into their stride in the opening quarter due to the determined efforts of the mid court players from both teams who were continually breaking down the flow and gaining numerous interceptions. St Lawrence centre Natalie Smart and St Clement centre Tammy Fage covered an incredible amount of court during the 60 minutes, repeatedly making themselves available for a pass to help out their fellow players. A very competitive and motivated game. The final score, 35-16 in St Lawrence’s favour, was not a true reflection on the quality of the match.
St Lawrence D and Accies C tied at the end of the first 15 minutes with 7 goals a piece. Accies took a 3 goal lead going into half time. St Lawrence’s defence suffered an injury in 2nd half leading to team changes that allowed Accies to gain their footing and pull into the lead winning 44-31.

There was barely anything separating St Saviour A and St Clement C, the later holding on to a tentative 2 or 3 goal lead at the end of each quarter. Highly competitive match between both teams with St Clement taking the win 37-34 with St Saviour gaining an extra 2 points for the table.
Monday night saw Division 3 unbeaten table toppers St Saviour B take on 2nd place St Lawrence E. St Saviour were in control from the onset finishing 2 goals ahead at the end of the first quarter. At the opposite end of the court, St Lawrence young shooters Jasmin Blair and Lucie Hardisty struggled to settle into their flow because of interceptions being carried out by St Saviour GD Elsje Swanepoel. St Lawrence players kept up the challenge, but it was not enough to allow them to gain the bonus point of half score, 47-21 win for St Saviour. Good to see the progress of this St Saviour B side whose players have predominantly come from the Back to Netball scheme.

Family rivalry between the C positions as Kerry Roche took on daughter Poppy but St John’s held the 3rd spot with another great team performance with numerous interceptions giving them an edge over the competition. Tara Marie playing out of position in GS to strike up a great connection with Becky Duncan (GA) to generate a 19 goal lead to take the win.
